Letters To Our Sons | January 2013

This year I am participating in a blog/circle group with a few other awesome moms and wonderful photographers. Each month we will post a new Letter To Our Son.  At the end of each letter will be a link to another letter written by a mom to her son. I am so excited to be a part of this and be able to do this for my boys!

To my oldest son,

Lately I have been having such a difficult time processing just how fast time goes. You will be 15 in just a few short months and starting high school next year - I have been thinking about this so much. I am very proud of the young man you are becoming but sometimes I can not help but wish I could just hold you as a little baby one more time.

Last night after we dropped your friend off, I started to talk to you about school and well, a little about life. You reassured me that everything was fine and that you felt good about school. What I was trying to tell you is to always be true to yourself, to not allow others to try and dictate who you are. I never want you to feel not good enough - high school can be so hard at times, the feeling of wanted to be accepted can even be overwhelming and that I only hope you will always remember how much you are loved by me and how, in my eyes, you are perfect.

You will always be my little boy - no matter how old you are or how far away you go - you will always remain in my heart as my little boy. Letting go has always been such a hard thing for me to do - and as you get older, it's proving even harder for me. I will always be here for you whenever you need - my greatest wish for you being happiness. I love you boo-boo!

Love always, Mom
